Yes, you read that title correctly! I have been planning a move for…well, a long time now. It was put off thanks to covid, but the time has finally come to transport myself from a land of trees and rain to a land of trees and rain. Different trees. Probably the same amount of rain. To clarify, I am moving from Ohio to Missouri, and I’m doing it in the middle of June of this year.
This is not the first time I’ve moved, but it has been seven years since I packed up my entire house and moved across the country. It’s rather a different experience than packing up some suitcases to come back from Scotland after postgraduate school. Namely, I have bucket loads more books than I did in my Scottish flat. Also, two cats and a dog. I had forgotten how much effort it is to take all the art off the walls, wrap it up, put it into boxes and then realise that there are vases and books and dishes and all sorts of assorted things left to pack.
As such, I am taking the month of May “off”. By this, I mean I will not be doing my twice weekly book reviews, and I won’t be writing every day. Blog posts may be sporadic. I will still be doing weekly author interviews, and I will still be around on social media. I imagine you’ll see rather a lot of discussions of moving. And boxes. And bubble wrap. Also pictures of cats. 😉
During the month of May, I will be packing up my entire house and getting this one ready to sell. Then, come the middle of June, I’ll gather the animals and set out on a daring journey!
This means that some of my writing might be released a little slower than otherwise. I am still writing my various projects, but moving is extremely disruptive and I cannot plan anything firm as far as release dates at the moment.
I appreciate all your support and I can’t wait to share my journey with you. I cannot tell you how much you lovely people mean to me and I thank you for sticking around for all my weirdness and giddy excitement over books.
