I’m very ready for political season to be done here. I’m tired of the news articles only talking about politics, the signs in people’s yards, and most definitely tired of the telephone calls from pollsters. They always seem to ask personal questions (how much do you make, what do you do, how old are you) which lead very clearly to identity theft issues in my mind. I never answer.
However, it did get me thinking about creative ways to describe the job of writer. Here are a few I came up with:
Wordsmith (duh)
Word Artist (less duh, probably more confusing for people)
Freelance story artist
The running of psychological scenarios in a multitude of dramatic and potentially unrealistic scenarios in order to determine the effect of said scenarios on the psyche of the human mind, for the purpose of understanding the underlying constants of humanity. (This one’s my favourite.)
I make stuff up.
I’m sure there are several other ways to go about describing “writer” as something other than writer or author. These are just a few, and they made me smile in the midst of all the political shenanigans. So there we have it!
Otherwise, I hope you have a great Friday.
