Yesterday was release day for The Forsaking of the Blind, the final book in The Wing Cycle trilogy! (Insert shouts of joy.) I’m still super excited about this and am basically riding that book release energy all the way to the weekend. (Quick note: the paperback and hardback books are not available yet. They’re stuck in the system. I will update you as to when the arrive.)
However, just because I’ve finished one series does not mean I get to take the day off! No, I did that on Wednesday because I was having a bad day. Anyways, yesterday, I continued working on book four of my On Behalf of Death series, wherein the main character, Cal Thorpe, works as Death’s marketing agent. I’m about 32k into the fourth book, and things are really starting to heat up.
I can’t tell you everything that’s going on, because that would involve spoilers for books one through three, but I can tell you that Cal has become irrationally and emotionally attached to coffee as a side effect of another condition. Normally, this is fine because he only encounters the drink once a day and he doesn’t have to think about it the rest of the time. Except…
I threw a coffee kiosk in his path.
And then someone spilled his coffee.
Things are going to go downhill from there. 🙂
Basically, I’m living my best writer life and am torturing my characters just a touch. It’s times like these that make me really, really enjoy being a writer. I’m definitely in the right place.
