Book Planning

E. G. Stone · Aug 28, 2020 · Leave a Comment

This week has been a strange week. Though, I feel as though I say that about most weeks. I suppose that’s better than falling into routine, but alas. This week has been a strange week.

Mostly, because I started writing the fourth book in my upcoming On Behalf of Death series. This follows Cal Thorpe, a marketing agent who has been hired by Death. Various shenanigans ensue. I’m about 6k words in, which is somewhere between 10-12% of the book. Yay! There’s a whole lot more to do (obviously) but it’s a start.

I’ve also been planning out my next several books. And by next several books, I mean there are about ten that I’ve sorted out to do next, which means that the rest of this year and a portion of next year is all set for bookish things. I don’t know how long these ten books will take, since different genres require different styles, which take different amounts of time, but I’m putting the plan in place.

This also means doing basic storyboards for these books. Normally, I either don’t storyboard at all (pantser time!) or I only do it right before writing the book. Figuring these things out waaay in advance is quite new for me. But I’m going to give it a shot. I think this will really help streamline the process.

So, yes. A strange week (that has nothing to do with writing books and mostly to do with allergies and sunshine and, well, life) but a productive one.
