This post, just in case you were wondering, has very little to nothing to do with writing. Just saying.
Anyways! I have curly hair. I’ve had many battles with my curly hair. Every day, I have to wet it, tame it, put product on it and let it dry. Sometimes for hours. That is one of the problems with thick, curly hair and humid environments. It takes a very long time to dry. And I don’t own a hairdryer (hello, poodle hair!) so that is way out of the question.
Sometimes, I would still have damp hair at three in the afternoon. No matter how often I tried to squeeze the water out, or “plop” it with a microfiber towel, or walk around in the wind (thank you, Edinburgh), my hair would not dry faster than four hours.
Because, having a cold and being very tired, I wrapped my hair in a microfiber towel before I put the product on. Turns out, my hair dried in less than an hour and it still looks as sleek and shiny as normal. So.
It’s taken me years to figure this out. I feel like a bit of an idiot. The solution was so simple! And yet it took all this time, despite research and trial and error and different products.
I think there’s probably a metaphor for life there somewhere, but I’m tired and sick, so I’ll let you figure it out.
