I was stumbling around the various writing communities yesterday and I came on this term. I did a bit of research and discovered that it was a writing challenge. Me being me, I said, “Ha! Bring it on!”
So here we are.
#Febfrenzy is basically NaNoWriMo in February. The goal is to write 50,000 words during the month. Now, normally for NaNoWriMo, I start an entirely new writing project and jump into the month with nothing more than an idea. At the moment, however, I am currently writing (rewriting) my draft of Cat’s Paw and I don’t want to put that on hold.
What I’m doing, then, is writing 50,000 words in my current WIP. That should bring me through the majority of the story and leave me with about 70K words at the end of February. I should, then, have about 10K words remaining.
It normally takes me about three months to write a draft, and I’m a month into that schedule. I’m a little behind (yay travel and day-job) but generally on schedule. Doing #Febfrenzy will accelerate the schedule and I should be done before the middle of March.
Provided I don’t go crazy trying to write 50K words in 28 days. Because, you know, it’s possible.
With that being said, I’m off to go do some writing! On my weekly murder mystery update. Because it’s Saturday and that’s what I write on Saturdays. After that, though, I will go write for Cat’s Paw!
