Lament for the Work Week

Because the Beatles song is too good to not do this…

Lament for the Work Week

Saturday all my troubles seemed so far away.
Now it looks as though they’re here to stay.
Oh, I believe in Saturday.

Monday I’m not awake as I should be.
There’s a shadow hanging over me.
Oh, Monday came suddenly.

Why it had to go, I don’t know, I blame the clock.
It feels very wrong, now I long for Saturday.

Saturday, so very many games to play.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in Saturday.

Why it had to go, I don’t know, I’m half-asleep.
I think I need some tea, now I long for Saturday.

Saturday there were no silly bills to pay.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in Saturday.
